Monitoring the behavior of your servers and services is a key factor in ensuring maximum availability of those systems. There are several open-source tools available to help you do this. Our mission is to help you choose and implement the right tools for your situation.

Some of the tools we use are:

  • Nagios is a very popular system and network monitoring tool. It has a plethora of plugins available for checking almost any part of your infrastructure and be easily combined with alerting configuration using mail or SMS.
  • As your infrastructure grows, you'll get log files and events on lots of different machines and devices. Logstash is a tool that allows you to centralize these logs and make them accessible for easy searching.
